Succes is a long-established Dutch firm, which hails back almost 100 years! They are best known nowadays for their loose leaf agendas, but the firm based in The Hague also issued their own "efficiency magazine" Succes, from 1928 onwards.
This issue from December 1953, counts 88 pages of slightly smaller than A5 size, partly printed in colour.
It had all kinds of useful articles on how to run a business as efficiently as possible! The modern shopping centre Lijnbaan in Rotterdam is featured extensively.
Of course, no magazine can exist without adverts. This issue features several adverts of motoring interest, these being:
- a two-page advert for the Studebaker Champion and Studebaker Commander V8. The Studebaker was awarded a golden medal by the New York Fashion Academy.
- a half-page advert for IFA cars, by their agent De Binckhorst in The Hague, which later imported Mazda cars into The Netherlands
- a quarter page advert for Goggo motorcycles (by the same firm that built the Goggomobil) by their Dutch agency GREMI in Groningen, which also imported several car brands over the years.
A truly historic magazine!
