New USA postage rules

In the second half of October, deliveries to the USA can be resumed.
All packages, small or big, now have to be declared in advance, while duties also have to be paid in advance, no matter the type of goods or value.
As a result, the new postage rates for (small) packages to the USA reflect the new rules. In order not to complicate matters, packages of over 2 kilograms of weight are not recommended.

The rates now consist of a fixed rate, called handling fee, which reflects the normal rate of tracked packages to the USA, plus a variable rate based on the value of the goods ordered. The variable rate is an approximation of the expected import taxes, based on the sales price of the goods purchased.
For one transaction, the rate charged may be in favour of the buyer, in another case in favour of the seller, but the classes have been defined such that the most common amounts of purchase are covered.
The system is still new, so may be adjusted over time and as experience learns. It also depends on the mood of the authorities involved, unfortunately.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused recently.
