The badge produced for the "ride that never was". In 1907 the original trek from Peking to Paris took place, won by an Itala. For 1982 a memorial run of this event was planned.

One of the people who wanted to participate was then secretary of the Morgan Sports Car Club, Chas Smith. He was preparing his 1965 Morgan 4/4 Series V (which currently resides in Finland) for this event. One of the ways to finance it was by issuing a special badge.

On most of these badges, the sky and the river are coloured dark blue. These were produced by James Baker & Co, Birmingham. One of these is in stock, as well as one with a light blue sky and a brighter red Morgan. Produced by Gladman & Norman in Birmingham, who no longer produce car badges. Both badges have been on display only and are therefore excellent!

Now hard to find.
